Why Should I Take This Test?

Risk Factors include people who:

• Take Medications that may damage the liver
• Family History of LIver Disease
• Heavy Alcohol Consumption
• Obesity - Diabetes and HBP increase risk
• History of Hepatitis
• Sexually Active and Sexual Behaviors that increase risk for exposure to Hepatitis

Symptoms - Slippery Slope Here for the Liver

Once symptoms have become evident the disease has progressed for many years wreaking havoc on the liver. Standardized testing is inexpensive and should be considered routine if you are in a higher risk group. The Liver Function Panel is also known as Hepatic Function Panel. Symptoms of advanced disease include:

• Weakness, Fatigue
• Loss of Appetite
• Nausea, Vomiting
• Abdominal Swelling or Pain
• Jaundice (yellowing of skin or eyes)
• Dark Urine and/or Light Colored Stool
• Itching
• Diarrhea
